The project included new landscaping works, the construction of retaining walls, a patio area, and a dedicated seating space for staff and visitors. A new fire escape was also installed to improve safety and emergency access. All works were carefully planned and carried out with minimal disruption to hospital operations.

The project was carried out within a live hospital environment with a busy A&E department operating at all times. A key challenge was ensuring minimal disruption to patients, staff, and emergency services. To achieve this, works were carefully planned and completed out of hours where required. Access to the garden area was restricted, with all materials, diggers, dumpers, and building equipment needing to be safely transported through the hospital. Strict safety controls and coordination were essential throughout the project.
